During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city's rich history and stunning landmarks that showcased its unique blend of ancient architecture and vibrant coastal life. Just a short distance away, I visited the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, a magnificent example of Romanesque architecture that dates back to the 4th century, making it a pivotal part of the city's heritage. Wandering the narrow streets of the Old Town, I also came across the impressive Gregory of Nin statue, a striking monument that honors the medieval bishop known for his efforts in promoting the Croatian language. These historical treasures were complemented by the lively Riva waterfront, where I enjoyed leisurely strolls lined with picturesque cafes and shops, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.
For those who appreciate nature, the proximity of the Mosor Mountain provided a refreshing escape from the coastal bustle. Just a scenic hike away, I was able to savor breathtaking views and the serenity of the surrounding landscape. When seeking relaxation, I explored nearby beaches, including the famous Bacvice Beach, known for its crystal-clear waters and lively beach bars, and the quieter Znjan City Beach, where I could unwind under the sun. Completing my experience, I often found myself enjoying outdoor films at the Bacvice Summer Cinema, making for a perfect end to my days in this enchanting city. Whether exploring historical landmarks or basking in the sun at the beach, Split offered a delightful blend of culture, history, and leisure that made my vacation truly memorable.
