Villa Inis Makarska

Makarska, a charming coastal town along Croatia's Dalmatian Coast, is known for its stunning beaches and vibrant waterfront. During my vacation, I took time to explore its nearby landmarks, enhancing my experience of the local culture and history. Just 2 kilometers from the town center, the Peninsula of St. Peter boasts breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea and is perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic under the pine trees. A quick walk led me to the Malacological Museum, home to a remarkable collection of seashells and marine life, which offered insights into the diversity of the region’s underwater world. In addition, I visited the City Museum and Muzej riba i rakova (Museum of Fish and Crustaceans), both within 1 kilometer, where I learned about the rich maritime history and the importance of fishing to the local economy.

Exploring further, I couldn't miss the historic St. Mark's Church, just 2 kilometers away, with its impressive architecture and serene atmosphere, providing a glimpse into the town's religious heritage. Kacic Square, located a short 1-kilometer walk from the center, is a lively gathering place that features traditional architecture and bustling cafés, making it the perfect backdrop for people-watching while sipping a local coffee. On clear days, the nearby Observatory offers stunning panoramas of both the sky and the surrounding landscape, allowing visitors to appreciate the natural beauty Makarska has to offer. Each of these landmarks contributed to a well-rounded experience, blending adventure with cultural appreciation during my time in this picturesque town.
