Impressions

During my recent vacation in Split, I was captivated by the harmonious blend of history, culture, and stunning natural beauty that the city offers. Split Port, located just half a kilometer from the city center, serves as a vibrant gateway to the Adriatic Sea, bustling with ferries and yachts that connect the mainland with nearby islands. Strolling along the Riva, a picturesque promenade lined with palm trees and cafes, I marveled at the lively atmosphere where locals and tourists alike gather to enjoy the views of the harbor and the magnificent Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is also in close proximity.

Exploring Split further, I ventured to the Mestrovic Gallery, situated a mere 2 kilometers away. This gallery houses the works of the renowned Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic, showcasing a remarkable collection of his sculptures, drawings, and architecture, set against the backdrop of a serene park. After immersing myself in the artistic heritage, I made my way towards the church and monastery of St. Frane, which is just half a kilometer away, where the tranquil atmosphere offered a perfect respite. The nearby Marjan Park, only a short walk from the city center, provided breathtaking views of the city and sea, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely hike amidst nature.

Lastly, I delved into the rich cultural tapestry of Split by visiting the Live Museum Split and the Split City Museum, both located within half a kilometer of each other. These attractions allowed me to experience the city's history through interactive displays and exhibitions. The Ethnographic Museum Split, just a stone's throw away, further enriched my understanding of local traditions and lifestyles. To round off my explorations, I visited the Temple of Jupiter, a beautifully preserved Roman structure that stands as a testament to Split’s ancient past. Each landmark offered a unique glimpse into the soul of this enchanting city, making my vacation an unforgettable experience.
