Impressions
During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the blend of history and vibrant modern life that the city offers. A stroll through the ancient streets leads you to the Split City Museum, just 0.3 km away, where I delved into the rich history of this coastal gem. Nearby, the iconic Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the imposing statue of Gregory of Nin both stand as testaments to the city’s medieval heritage, each only a short walk away. One of the highlights of my visit was the Riva, the picturesque waterfront promenade that stretches 0.5 km along the harbor, bustling with cafés, restaurants, and the lively atmosphere of locals and tourists alike. The cultural depth of the region was further explored at the Ethnographic Museum, which provided fascinating insights into local customs and traditions.
The charm of Split is magnified by its vibrant attractions and landmarks, inviting exploration at every turn. Just a stone's throw from the harbor, Froggyland, a quirky museum filled with unique frog-themed art, captured my attention and provided a fun, whimsical contrast to the historical sights. I also ventured to the Live Museum Split, where interactive exhibits brought the city’s past to life. A little further afield, Stadion Poljud, located about 2 km from the city center, showcases Split’s passion for sports, especially football. As I walked back toward the Split Port, which connects the city to various Adriatic islands, I couldn't help but feel a profound connection to this beautiful coastal town, rich in heritage and infused with a vibrant, modern energy.
