Impressions

During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city’s remarkable blend of ancient history and vibrant coastal life. Exploring the atmospheric Diocletian's Palace, just 2 kilometers from my accommodation, was a highlight. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century, served as both a fortress and a palace, and its intricate architecture is a testament to Roman urban planning. Nearby, the Riva promenade, located 3 kilometers away, provided a stunning waterfront view and a perfect spot for leisurely strolls or enjoying a drink at one of the many cafes while taking in the activity of Split Port, which is just 2 kilometers from the city center. The Temple of Jupiter and the remarkable Gregory of Nin statue, both within a short walk, added to the historic charm of the area, making it easy to immerse myself in the rich culture that surrounds the city.

For a contrasting experience, I ventured to the beautiful beaches that Split has to offer, with Bacvice Beach and Znjan City Beach merely 2 kilometers and 0.5 kilometers away, respectively. Bacvice is famous for its lively atmosphere and shallow waters, ideal for playing picigin, a traditional local beach game. On the other hand, the serene nature of Znjan City Beach, just a 0.5-kilometer stroll, provided an ideal escape for relaxation and sunbathing. Additionally, the majestic Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which houses the remains of Saint Domnius, stands impressively just 2 kilometers from the palace, acting as a landmark of spiritual significance. After a day of exploration, I found myself drawn to the Split City Museum, also 2 kilometers distant, where I could delve deeper into the region’s fascinating past. My vacation in Split was a perfect blend of historical exploration and beachside relaxation, showcasing the city’s diverse offerings.
