One of my first stops was the imposing statue of Gregory of Nin, located just 0.3 kilometers from the heart of the Old Town. This iconic figure, known for his contributions to the Croatian language and culture, is a popular gathering spot and is surrounded by intriguing tales and local legends. Nearby, the Live Museum Split, also a mere 0.3 kilometers away, offers an interactive experience where visitors can engage with living history, showcasing the fascinating stories of Split’s past.
Exploring further, I found the Ethnographic Museum Split and the Archaeological Museum Split, both within one kilometer of my accommodations. The Ethnographic Museum offers a glimpse into the daily lives, customs, and traditions of the region, featuring local costumes and artifacts that tell the story of Split's rich cultural tapestry. Within the same vicinity, the historic Temple of Jupiter and the Church of Saint Martin invite further exploration, each reflecting the architectural grandeur of their time. The Split Port, just a short walk away, buzzes with activity as ferries and boats make their way to nearby islands, providing a link to the stunning natural beauty of the Adriatic Sea. My time in Split was filled with rich experiences and unforgettable sights, making it a truly remarkable vacation destination.
