During my recent vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city’s rich tapestry of history, culture, and picturesque landscapes. One of the highlights was my exploration of the nearby Split City Museum, a mere 1 km from my accommodation. This museum offers a delightful glimpse into Split's historical evolution, showcasing artifacts that narrate the story of the city from ancient Roman times to contemporary history. Just a short stroll away, the Croatian Maritime Museum, located 0.5 km from the city center, celebrates the maritime heritage of Croatia, displaying various naval artifacts and providing insights into the importance of the sea for the region. I was delighted to also wander through the narrow streets of Old Split, which are lined with charming cafes and shops, making it a perfect backdrop for an afternoon stroll.

As I navigated through the heart of the city, I discovered iconic landmarks that defined Split's cultural landscape. The Church of Saint Martin, just 1 km away, impressed me with its unique blend of Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles, while the ancient Temple of Jupiter, also within 1 km, showcased the city's rich Roman history. Froggyland, a quirky museum featuring a collection of frog taxidermy arranged in humorous vignettes, was a surprising delight. After soaking up the history, I relaxed along the Riva, Split's vibrant waterfront promenade, which is 1 km away, often buzzing with locals and tourists alike. Finally, I couldn’t miss the Ethnographic Museum Split, another gem located 1 km from the center, which provided a fascinating look into the customs, traditions, and cultural heritage of the Croatian people. Each of these experiences helped paint a vivid picture of life in Split, making my vacation truly memorable.
