Impressions

During my vacation in Split, I was enchanted by the rich tapestry of history and culture woven throughout the city. A mere half-kilometer stroll took me to the iconic Temple of Jupiter, an impressive structure dating back to the Roman era. This carefully preserved temple, dedicated to the god of the sky, boasts beautiful architecture and intricately carved details that transport you back in time. Nearby, I also explored the charming streets of Old Split, where Venetian-style buildings line the cobblestone paths, and delightful cafes beckon for a coffee break amidst the bustling atmosphere.

No visit to Split would be complete without a stop at the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, another fascinating landmark just half a kilometer from my accommodations. Nestled within the historic Diocletian's Palace, this cathedral is a marvel of both architecture and history, featuring a stunning bell tower that offers breathtaking views over the city. Just a stone's throw away, the quirky Froggyland delighted me with its collection of meticulously crafted frog sculptures, while the Church of Saint Martin, with its serene ambiance, provided a peaceful contrast to the lively Riva waterfront, where locals and tourists alike gather to enjoy the Mediterranean vibe.

I also took the time to delve deeper into Split's cultural heritage with visits to the Archaeological Museum and the Ethnographic Museum, both within a kilometer from the city center. These establishments offer a fascinating glimpse into the region's past, showcasing artifacts and stories that highlight the evolution of life in this Mediterranean hub. Additionally, I discovered the church and monastery of St. Frane, set amidst the tranquil surroundings just a short walk away, which served as a perfect backdrop for moments of reflection. While the grandeur of Stadion Poljud, located a bit further at 2 kilometers, evoked the sports spirit of Split, it was the blend of history, culture, and the warm hospitality of the locals that I cherished most during my stay.
