Impressions

During my recent vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city's rich history and vibrant culture. One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the Old Split area, which is just a kilometer away from the central attractions. Wandering through these ancient streets, I discovered the remarkable Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site that seamlessly blends Roman history with lively contemporary life. Nearby, I visited the iconic Cathedral of Saint Domnius, a stunning architectural marvel that holds deep historical significance as one of the oldest structures still in use today.

In my explorations, I also discovered the Live Museum Split, an interactive experience that immerses visitors in Croatian heritage. Just a short walk from there, I visited the Ethnographic Museum Split, which showcases the country’s diverse customs and traditions. The nearby Gregory of Nin statue, just a kilometer from my base, offered a unique photo opportunity and a chance to learn about this important figure in Croatian history. One evening, I strolled along the scenic Riva promenade, where I enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere, charming cafes, and stunning views of the Adriatic Sea, creating a perfect setting to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

For those willing to venture a little further, the Stadion Poljud, located about two kilometers from the heart of the city, held its own allure. Set against a backdrop of the glorious mountains, this stadium is an architectural gem where passionate fans gather to cheer for the local football team, Hajduk Split. As I concluded my trip with a visit to the Archaeological Museum Split and the Church and Monastery of St. Frane, I felt a deep appreciation for the city's historical tapestry, one that combines ancient relics, ecclesiastical charm, and modern vibrancy, making Split an unforgettable destination for any traveler.
