During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city's rich history combined with its vibrant coastal culture. One of the first landmarks I visited was Diocletian's Palace, a stunning Roman structure that dates back to the 4th century. This ancient palace is not just a historical site but a living part of the city's fabric, with shops, cafes, and residences nestled within its walls. A short stroll led me to the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which stands proudly at the heart of the palace complex. Its impressive bell tower offers panoramic views of Split and the surrounding Adriatic coastline, making the climb worthwhile.

Exploring further, I found myself enchanted by Froggyland, a quirky little museum housing over 500 taxidermied frogs posed in amusing scenes. Although unconventional, the museum is a testament to the eclectic side of Split's attractions. Nearby, the Ethnographic Museum offered a deeper dive into the region's cultural heritage, showcasing traditional costumes and artifacts that reflect the lifestyle of the Dalmatian people. My exploration also brought me to the charming Old Split district, where narrow streets lined with local boutiques and eateries exude a timeless charm, perfect for leisurely wanderings.

No visit to Split would be complete without a stop at Riva, the vibrant waterfront promenade. It’s the ideal spot to relax with a coffee while watching the world go by, with the gentle sound of waves completing the perfect ambiance. Just a short walk away is the Gregory of Nin statue, a symbol of the city’s cultural identity. The statue is said to bring good luck, making it a popular spot for visitors to rub its toe for fortune. Concluding my day's adventures, the serene Church and Monastery of St. Frane offered a moment of reflection amidst the lively backdrop of Split, showcasing the city’s unique blend of historical significance and contemporary life.
