Palace Augubio Split

During my recent vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city’s vibrant atmosphere and rich history. The heart of the city, the Riva, is a picturesque waterfront promenade that stretches along the Adriatic Sea. It’s the perfect place to soak up the sun, enjoy a leisurely walk, or indulge in some local cuisine at one of the many cafes and restaurants lining the path. Just a short 0.3 kilometers away, the grandeur of Diocletian's Palace awaited exploration, a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases the impressive Roman architecture and the fascinating history of the region.

As I wandered through the narrow streets surrounding Diocletian's Palace, I was drawn to several remarkable landmarks. The Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which stands tall as the city’s oldest structure, is another highlight just 0.3 kilometers away. Adjacent to it is the Temple of Jupiter, a stunning example of Roman architecture that dates back to the 3rd century. For a moment of reflection and tranquility, I visited the Church and Monastery of St. Frane, also within a short walking distance, where the serene ambiance offered a peaceful escape from the bustling city life. Rounding off my cultural journey, I discovered the playful side of Split at Froggyland, a quirky museum that showcases an array of taxidermied frogs in whimsical scenes, situated just 0.3 kilometers from my accommodation.

To delve deeper into Split's maritime heritage, I ventured slightly farther to the Croatian Maritime Museum, located just 1 kilometer away. This fascinating museum offered insights into the seafaring history of Croatia, showcasing various artifacts and exhibits that brought the stories of the sea to life. Additionally, the Split City Museum provided a captivating overview of the city's evolution throughout the ages, just 0.3 kilometers from the Riva. And for those who embrace the academic side of history, the Archaeological Museum Split, located 2 kilometers away, is home to an extensive collection of archaeological finds. Every corner of Split brimmed with historical significance, making my vacation an unforgettable experience rich in culture and exploration.
