Olive Stone House Villa Makarska

During my vacation in Makarska, I was captivated by the stunning beauty of this coastal town nestled along Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. One of the highlights of my trip was the proximity to a range of breathtaking landmarks. Just 3 kilometers away lies the Nature Park Biokovo, a magnificent natural reserve known for its dramatic mountain landscapes, diverse flora, and fauna. I took advantage of this close proximity to hike some of the scenic trails, soaking in panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and the surrounding countryside. The park's rich biodiversity and tranquil environment provided a refreshing contrast to the vibrant energy of the town.

Another gem within easy reach of my accommodation was the Makarska Beach, located merely 2 kilometers away. This beautiful pebbled beach is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and lively atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to spend sunny days basking in the sun or engaging in various water sports. After enjoying some time by the sea, I explored the charming streets of the town and discovered several other landmarks, including the Sveti Petar Lighthouse—a picturesque beacon that offered an enchanting view of the coastline—just a short distance away. Additionally, a visit to the Vepric Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, only 2 kilometers from the beach, provided a moment of serenity and a chance to reflect on the striking altar against the backdrop of the surrounding nature.

Cultural exploration was another highlight of my stay, as Makarska is steeped in history and home to various intriguing sites. Within just a kilometer, I visited the Muzej riba i rakova (Fish and Crayfish Museum), which offered a fascinating glimpse into local marine life. The iconic St. Mark's Church and the St. Marc Cathedral, both accessible within 2 kilometers, showcased stunning architecture that reflects the town's rich heritage. I also wandered through Kacic Square, a vibrant hub of local life, where I enjoyed delicious local cuisine and indulged in the lively atmosphere. Each landmark added its own unique charm to my holiday, making my time in Makarska truly unforgettable.
