Impressions

During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the rich history and vibrant culture that the city has to offer. A short stroll from my accommodation led me to the Church of Saint Martin, a quaint and charming landmark that showcases the city’s medieval architecture. Just a stone’s throw away, the Riva promenade beckoned with its lively atmosphere, where locals and tourists alike enjoyed leisurely walks while taking in stunning views of the Adriatic Sea. The centerpiece of the Old Town, the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, stood majestically within the Diocletian's Palace, its bell tower offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding area. I also explored the Temple of Jupiter, an ancient Roman temple that served as a reminder of the city’s roots, and marveled at the intricacies of its design. Nearby, the Jaman Art Centre and the Live Museum Split provided a glimpse into contemporary creativity and local entertainment, further enriching my experience in this historic city.

As I ventured beyond the Old Town, the Split Port came into view, bustling with ferries and yachts that connected the mainland to nearby islands, a gateway to further adventures in the Dalmatian archipelago. I was delighted to discover Froggyland, a whimsical museum that showcased 507 taxidermy frogs in amusing poses, offering a unique and quirky experience. Just a bit further, the Archaeological Museum Split presented an extensive collection of artifacts, reflecting the layers of history that have shaped the region over the centuries. Each visit to these landmarks deepened my appreciation for Split's unique blend of ancient heritage and modern vibrancy, making my vacation an unforgettable exploration of culture, art, and history.
