Impressions

During my recent vacation in Split, I had the pleasure of exploring its rich history and vibrant culture. A stroll through the heart of the city led me to Old Split, just 0.3 kilometers away, where the ancient architecture and charming streets transport you back in time. The stunning Palace of Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a testament to Roman engineering and design, and is surrounded by bustling cafés and shops. Just a short walk from Old Split, I visited the iconic Gregory of Nin statue, a beloved symbol of the city that celebrates its medieval heritage. The nearby Split Port, also only 0.3 km away, served as a lively hub for ferries connecting to nearby islands, making it an ideal starting point for day trips to Hvar or Brač.

In addition to the beautiful coastal scenery, I immersed myself in Split's rich cultural offerings. The Archaeological Museum, located 2 kilometers from my accommodation, showcased a wealth of ancient artifacts that narrated the region's fascinating history. For sports enthusiasts, Stadion Poljud, also 2 kilometers away, is a notable landmark known for hosting local football matches and events. I didn't miss the chance to explore the Live Museum Split and the Ethnographic Museum, both a mere 0.3 km from the city center. The Live Museum offered an engaging experience with interactive exhibits, while the Ethnographic Museum provided insight into the traditional customs of Dalmatia. Each site reinforced the depth and diversity of Split, making my visit truly unforgettable.
