During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city's rich history and vibrant culture, all easily accessible within a short walking distance. One of the first landmarks that caught my attention was the impressive Gregory of Nin statue, located just 0.5 km from my accommodation. This towering figure, a symbol of Croatian national heritage, stands in front of the Golden Gate and is known for its oversized hand, believed by locals to bring good luck when touched. A leisurely stroll from there led me to the charming Riva promenade, a perfect spot for people-watching while indulging in local delicacies from the nearby cafés. Along the way, I explored the fascinating Temple of Jupiter and took some time to appreciate the artifacts at the Ethnographic Museum Split, both enriching my understanding of the city’s ancient past.

With the enchanting church and monastery of St. Frane just a short distance away, I found myself immersed in the serene atmosphere of this spiritual haven. The nearby Froggyland, a quirky museum showcasing over 500 handcrafted frogs in various scenarios, offered a delightful contrast to the reverent surroundings. Just a bit further, the iconic Stadion Poljud, known for its unique architecture and as the home ground for the Hajduk Split football team, beckoned to sports enthusiasts. Each landmark revealed more about the cultural tapestry of Split, making my trip an unforgettable exploration of its historical and contemporary charm, all enriched by the vibrant Mediterranean spirit that envelops the city.
