Just a stone's throw away, I explored the ancient ruins of Diocletian's Palace itself, an architectural marvel that serves as a reminder of the city's historical significance. The atmosphere around the palace was lively, with street performers and local vendors enhancing the overall experience.
In addition to the architectural wonders, I discovered a wealth of artistic and cultural experiences nearby. One such gem was the Jaman Art Centre, where local artists showcased their work in a vibrant setting that celebrated contemporary art. Not far from there, the Croatian Maritime Museum offered fascinating insights into the maritime history of the region, allowing visitors to explore artifacts and exhibitions that shed light on Split's seafaring past. I also visited the Live Museum Split, an interactive museum where I could immerse myself in the historical narratives of the area while capturing fun photos with costumed characters.
As I wandered through the streets, I stumbled upon the charming Froggyland, a quirky museum dedicated to preserved frogs in unique and humorous settings. It was a delightful detour that brought a smile to my face. Near the tranquil Church and Monastery of St. Frane, I found a peaceful spot to reflect and take in the picturesque surroundings.
