Impressions

During my recent vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city's rich historical tapestry and vibrant culture. One of the most magnificent landmarks is the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which stands proud just 1 km from the bustling heart of the city. Originally built as a mausoleum for the Roman Emperor Diocletian, its stunning bell tower offers breathtaking panoramic views of Split and the Adriatic Sea. Nearby, the Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace, also a mere kilometer away, is a mesmerizing open plaza flanked by ancient stone columns—perfect for soaking in the city's historic ambiance. For a glimpse into local life, I explored the Riva, Split's scenic waterfront promenade, where locals and tourists alike gather to enjoy coffee, music, and sun.

My exploration continued with a visit to the Live Museum Split, which cleverly showcases the city’s heritage through interactive exhibits and performances, all within a short stroll from other key sites. I also took the opportunity to visit the Temple of Jupiter, an impressive remnant of Roman architecture, where I marveled at the intricately carved columns. For art enthusiasts, the Jaman Art Centre and the Split City Museum nearby offer insight into the city's contemporary and historical artistic expressions. The Archaeological Museum Split contains fascinating artifacts dating back to prehistoric times and is only a kilometer away. To round off my cultural adventure, I ventured to Stadion Poljud, known for its unique architectural design and as a venue for lively football matches, just a short distance away from the city's core attractions. Each landmark contributed to a wonderfully immersive experience, leaving me with unforgettable memories of Split's charm.
