During my recent vacation in Makarska, I was truly captivated by the stunning combination of natural beauty and rich cultural heritage that the area has to offer. Nestled along the Dalmatian coast, Makarska is blessed with crystal-clear waters and the majestic backdrop of the Biokovo mountain range, peaks that invite exploration and hiking adventures. Just a short distance from my accommodation, I found the picturesque Biokovka, a popular spot for visitors seeking panoramic views of the coastline and lush greenery. Whether I was relaxing on the beach or hiking in the hills, the vibrant scenes of Makarska created an unforgettable backdrop for my getaway.

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the local landmarks that add to the charm of this coastal town. The Vepric Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, located just 2 kilometers away from the center, provided a serene escape for reflection and contemplation. This beautiful shrine, adorned with statues and surrounded by lush gardens, is a renowned pilgrimage site and a testament to the region’s deep spiritual roots. Not far from there, I explored the historic St. Marc Cathedral and Kacic Square, which showcases traditional Dalmatian architecture and hosts lively events, allowing me to soak in the local culture and connect with both locals and fellow travelers.

For those seeking more adventurous pursuits, I had the opportunity to experience parasailing, just 1 kilometer from my hotel. Soaring above the Adriatic Sea, the view was breathtaking, showcasing the stunning landscapes of Makarska from a unique perspective. Also nearby was the fascinating Malacological Museum, home to an impressive collection of seashells and marine life specimens, enriching my appreciation for the region's biodiversity. And let’s not forget the iconic Sveti Petar Lighthouse, a charming landmark that stands as a beacon of the town's maritime history. This combination of natural wonders, cultural treasures, and thrilling activities truly made my Makarska experience one for the books.
