A short stroll from the cathedral leads to several remarkable landmarks that showcase Split's historical significance. The Church of Saint Martin, a humble yet charming structure, is just a few steps away and is a testament to the city's medieval heritage. Nearby, the Split City Museum provides fascinating insights into the town's evolution through the ages, with exhibits that showcase artifacts from various historical periods. As I wandered through the narrow alleys of Old Split, I stopped to admire the striking bronze statue of Gregory of Nin, a national symbol of Croatian independence. The statue, famous for its large toe that visitors rub for good luck, is surrounded by lively squares and bustling cafes, making it an ideal spot to soak in the local atmosphere.

To complete my cultural odyssey, I explored the ancient Temple of Jupiter, where the remnants of Roman worship practices can still be felt today. The temple's preserved features, including the magnificent reliefs and columns, create a captivating portal to the past. I also had fun at the Live Museum Split, an interactive experience that brings history to life through engaging performances and reenactments.
