Impressions
During my recent vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city’s rich history and stunning architecture, all conveniently located within a short walk of one another. Just 0.5 kilometers from my hotel, I found myself strolling through Republic Square, a vibrant hub that's perfect for people-watching and enjoying the local atmosphere. Nearby, Split City Museum provided an intriguing overview of the city’s evolution through the ages, with exhibits that highlighted its significance in the Adriatic region. Exploring the charming streets of Old Split, I marveled at the mix of ancient and modern influences, as historical buildings coexisted harmoniously with lively cafes and shops. No visit would be complete without experiencing the bustling Riva, where locals and tourists alike mingled against the stunning backdrop of the Adriatic Sea, while Diocletian's Palace stood as the crown jewel of the city, its ancient walls whispering stories of a time long past.
The Temple of Jupiter and the Gregory of Nin statue were among other notable landmarks that added to the rich tapestry of Split's culture, each 0.5 kilometers from the heart of the city. The Live Museum Split offered a unique interactive experience, allowing visitors to step back in time and engage with the city’s history in an unusual yet entertaining way. A quirky gem, Froggyland, was a delightful and whimsical stop that showcased a collection of stuffed frogs arranged in humorous and quirky scenes, providing a light-hearted contrast to the city's historical offerings. For a taste of sports culture, a visit to Stadium Poljud, approximately 2 kilometers from the city center, revealed the passionate spirit of Split through its love for football and hosting various events. Each landmark contributed to an unforgettable experience, making my stay in Split not just a vacation, but a captivating journey through history and culture.
