During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city’s seamless blend of historical and modern elements. The iconic Cathedral of Saint Domnius, situated just a kilometer from my accommodation, served as a remarkable entrance to the rich history of the town, originally built as a mausoleum for Emperor Diocletian. Nearby, I explored the Ethnographic Museum Split, which highlighted the region's cultural traditions, and the impressive Archaeological Museum Split, just a short walk further, which showcased ancient artifacts that spoke of Croatia's storied past. Strolling along the Riva, the vibrant waterfront promenade, I enjoyed scenic views and delightful cafes, leading me to the enchanting Old Split, where cobbled streets and ancient architecture took me back in time.

My days were filled with engaging discoveries as I ventured to Froggyland, a whimsical museum that left me both amused and intrigued with its collection of taxidermy frogs posed in various human-like scenarios. The church and monastery of St. Frane, also just a kilometer away, offered a serene respite from the bustling city life, while the Jaman Art Centre introduced me to contemporary Croatian art. Conclusively, a must-visit was Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where I marveled at its grandeur, realizing it was not just a palace but a living part of the city. The nearby Split City Museum enriched my understanding of the area's history and development, making my time in this Croatian gem truly unforgettable.
