During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the rich history and vibrant culture of this stunning coastal city. Just a short stroll from my accommodation, I found myself in the heart of Old Split, a beautifully preserved area that showcases centuries of architectural marvels, including Diocletian's Palace. This UNESCO World Heritage site, dating back to the 4th century, is an impressive example of Roman architecture, featuring an intricate labyrinth of streets, shops, and open squares. Nearby, the Cathedral of Saint Domnius stands as one of the oldest structures still in use in Croatia, offering a glimpse into the city's religious heritage. The Live Museum Split and the Split City Museum, both within walking distance, provide engaging insights into the local culture and historical contexts that have shaped this enchanting destination.

In addition to the charms of Old Split, I took the time to explore several fascinating landmarks situated just a bit farther afield. Stadion Poljud, located only 2 km from the city center, is an iconic venue where soccer fans gather to cheer for the local team, Hajduk Split. I also made my way to the Archaeological Museum, which is two kilometers away, where countless artifacts from prehistoric to medieval times tell the story of the region's past. The famous Split Port is another highlight, situated just 500 meters from the main attractions, providing a gateway to the beautiful islands of the Adriatic. As I ventured through the area, I encountered the Temple of Jupiter, a striking Roman structure that added to the city's historical tapestry, making my vacation in Split an unforgettable experience steeped in charm and history.
