During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the city's rich history and stunning architecture, particularly the iconic Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Just a kilometer from Old Split, this remarkable structure dates back to the 4th century and served as the retirement palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian. Traversing its ancient walls, I was enchanted by the harmonious blend of history and modernity, where shops and cafes coexist alongside remnants of Roman architecture. Not far from the palace, the Temple of Jupiter stands as a testament to the city's ancient roots; its impressive stone facade and intricate details are a must-see. I also took a stroll through the vibrant streets of Old Split, where I soaked in the lively atmosphere, often shaded by historic buildings that tell stories of the past.

Additionally, my exploration of Split led me to various museums and attractions that add depth to the city's cultural landscape. The Live Museum Split, also a kilometer away, offers a unique interactive experience that presents the history of the city through theatrical performances. Just a short walk further, Froggyland showcases a quirky collection of taxidermied frogs in various amusing scenarios, bringing a smile to visitors of all ages. The Mestrovic Gallery, located two kilometers from my base, is dedicated to the works of Ivan Mestrovic, a notable Croatian sculptor who left a lasting impact on this city's artistic heritage. I also made sure to visit the Archaeological Museum Split, which is home to an extensive collection of artifacts that chronicle the region's history. Each landmark enriched my understanding of Split's vibrant past, making my vacation truly unforgettable.
