During my recent vacation in Makarska, I was captivated not only by the stunning beaches but also by the rich tapestry of local culture and landmarks that the area has to offer. One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Vepric Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, located just 2 km from the heart of Makarska. This serene pilgrimage site is beautifully set against a backdrop of pine trees and rocky hills, evoking the peaceful ambiance of the original Lourdes. The shrine features intricate statues, peaceful walking paths, and ample opportunities for contemplation, making it a spiritual retreat that is both memorable and moving.

Closer to the coast, I indulged in exciting activities such as parasailing, available just 0.3 km from my accommodations. The exhilarating experience provided breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea and the scenic coastline. I also took leisurely strolls along the picturesque Makarska Beach, which is conveniently located about 0.5 km away. This beautiful stretch of pebbled shore is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying fresh seafood at nearby beachside cafes. Additionally, I found Kacic Square, a vibrant hub just 1 km from my location, bursting with local charm, cafes, and shops, where I could immerse myself in the lively atmosphere of Makarska.

As I continued exploring, I stumbled upon several other remarkable landmarks within a short distance. The Sveti Petar Lighthouse, approximately 1 km away, stands proudly overlooking the sea and offers stunning sunset views for those who venture to its scenic surrounding area. For nature lovers, Bilosevac and Ratac, both just 1 km and 0.3 km away, provide beautiful hiking trails and spaces for relaxation. The Peninsula of St. Peter, about 2 km from my base, is ideal for more tranquil escapes, while the historic St. Marc Cathedral, also 2 km away, captivated me with its stunning architecture and rich history. Each landmark I visited offered a unique glimpse into the charm and allure of Makarska, making my vacation both memorable and enriching.
