Impressions

During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the rich history and vibrant atmosphere of this coastal city. Just a short walk from my accommodations, I discovered the beautiful Church and Monastery of St. Frane, which dates back to the 15th century. The serene ambiance of the monastery gardens offered a perfect retreat from the bustling streets. Exploring further into Old Split, I found myself wandering through narrow cobblestone streets lined with charming cafes, shops, and historic architecture. The nearby Republic Square, a lively hub filled with locals and visitors alike, served as a perfect spot to relax and soak in the city’s energetic vibe.

Nearby, the Split Port buzzed with activity as ferries and boats arrived and departed, connecting the mainland to the stunning Croatian islands. I also took time to visit the Church of Saint Martin, a hidden gem featuring beautifully preserved Romanesque architecture, which was only a stone's throw away. The Ethnographic Museum Split offered insightful exhibits on local customs and traditions, while the engaging Live Museum Split brought history to life through interactive displays and performances. Each landmark I encountered, from the ancient to the more modern attractions, painted a vivid picture of Split's cultural heritage, making my vacation an unforgettable experience.
