During my vacation in Makarska, I was captivated by the stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of this charming coastal town. Nestled at the foot of the Biokovo Mountain, just 1 km away, Makarska boasts breathtaking views and opportunities for outdoor adventures. The Biokovo Nature Park is a haven for hikers and nature lovers, with numerous trails winding through its rugged terrains. Closer to the town, Kacic Square, only 0.3 km from my accommodation, served as a lively hub filled with cafes and shops, where the vibrant local life unfolded against the backdrop of the impressive Church of St. Mark. A leisurely stroll to the Makarska Harbour, just half a kilometer away, provided a picturesque view of fishing boats and yachts while I enjoyed the refreshing sea breeze.

Exploring further, I discovered several nearby landmarks that highlighted both the natural and cultural allure of Makarska. The stunning Makarska Beach, located only 1 km away, offered golden sands and crystal-clear waters that were perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Just a short distance from the beach is the Peninsula of St. Peter, where I encountered the serene Forrest Park Osejava, only 0.5 km away, inviting me for leisurely walks among pine trees with stunning coastal views. The Sveti Petar Lighthouse, also about 1 km away, marked the coastline beautifully, symbolizing the rich nautical heritage of the region. Additionally, visiting the Muzej riba i rakova (Museum of Fish and Crustaceans), a mere 0.3 km from my lodging, deepened my appreciation for the local marine culture. Each exploration revealed a new facet of Makarska’s charm, making my trip an unforgettable experience.
