During my recent vacation in Split, I found myself immersed in a rich tapestry of history, culture, and stunning architecture. One of the highlights was exploring Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates back to the 4th century. The palace, with its massive walls and intricate Roman architecture, was a profound reminder of the city's storied past. Just a short stroll away, I visited the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which stands proudly at the heart of the city. Its bell tower offered panoramic views of Split and the Adriatic Sea, while nearby, the Live Museum Split provided a fascinating glimpse into the daily life of ancient Romans through interactive exhibits. The charming alleys of Old Split, lined with quaint cafes and shops, invited me to wander and indulge in local culinary delights, making each exploration a delightful adventure.

The artistic side of Split was equally compelling, as I discovered the Jaman Art Centre, nestled within the vibrant streets just a half-kilometer from my hotel. This contemporary space showcases local talent and hosts exciting exhibitions that highlight Split's growing arts scene. Close by, the Church and Monastery of St. Frane and the Church of Saint Martin added touches of tranquility amidst the bustling city life, their stunning architecture and serene gardens providing moments of reflection. To round out my cultural experience, I spent an afternoon at the Croatian Maritime Museum, where I learned about the country's rich maritime history through fascinating artifacts and exhibits. Each landmark, from historic churches to modern art spaces, combined to create a captivating narrative that deepened my appreciation for this beautiful coastal city.
