During my recent vacation in Makarska, I was captivated by the stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of this charming coastal town. Nestled along the Adriatic Sea, the town boasts a backdrop of the majestic Biokovo mountain range. Just a short distance from my accommodations, I enjoyed leisurely walks to several notable landmarks that added a delightful mix of history and nature to my stay. Among these were the Observatory and the Peninsula of St. Peter, each located merely half a kilometer from the center, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and the shimmering sea.

A visit to Kacic Square, also just half a kilometer away, allowed me to soak in the lively atmosphere as locals gathered to socialize and enjoy outdoor cafés. Nearby, the City Museum sparked my interest with its collection of artifacts and exhibits that narrate the history of Makarska. The exquisite St. Marc Cathedral, standing a kilometer from the square, impressed me with its stunning architecture and serene ambiance. Additionally, the Malacological Museum, which is also one kilometer away, showcased an incredible array of seashells and marine life, reflecting the region's rich maritime heritage.

No trip to Makarska would be complete without indulging in its beautiful beaches, with Makarska Beach only half a kilometer from my base. The fine pebbles and crystal-clear waters made it an ideal spot for sunbathing and swimming. For a touch of tranquility away from the beach, I ventured to Mlinice, just two kilometers away, where I discovered scenic walking paths and picturesque streams. The Sveti Petar Lighthouse, approximately a kilometer from the city center, further enhanced my coastal journey with its historic charm and panoramic views. Each landmark added layers to my understanding and appreciation of this enchanting destination, making my vacation in Makarska truly unforgettable.
