During my vacation in Makarska, I had the opportunity to explore a variety of stunning landmarks that truly showcased the charm of the region. Just two kilometers from the town center, the Sveti Petar Lighthouse stood tall against the backdrop of the Adriatic Sea, guiding sailors with its bright beam and offering breathtaking panoramic views from its vicinity. Nearby, the Vepric Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, located just a kilometer away, provided a serene spiritual retreat, where visitors can admire its unique architectural features and lush surroundings. For nature enthusiasts, Mlinice, also a short two-kilometer hike away, presents scenic walking trails along crystal-clear streams and charming old mills, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful day out. Additionally, adventure seekers can try parasailing just half a kilometer from the seafront, soaring over the stunning coastline for an unforgettable aerial perspective.

Venturing further into Makarska's cultural and historical treasures, I visited Kacic Square, about two kilometers from the main attractions, where vibrant cafés and shops create a lively atmosphere that captures the essence of local life. St. Marc Cathedral, located near the square, is a striking example of Baroque architecture and a testament to the town's rich religious history. The picturesque Peninsula of St. Peter is just a short walk away, offering beautiful walking paths framed by pine trees and enchanting views of the Dalmatian coast. For a more adventurous day, hiking in Biokovo Mountain, located a mere two kilometers from the town, provides stunning vistas and a chance to explore its diverse flora and fauna. Lastly, the Observatory, just one kilometer from the center of town, offers stargazing opportunities that perfectly complement the natural beauty of this captivating region. Overall, my time in Makarska was enriched by the wealth of natural and cultural landmarks, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
