Makarska, a picturesque town located along the impressive Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, is renowned for its stunning beaches and vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere. During my vacation, I was captivated by the idyllic shoreline and charming streets, which are lined with cafes and boutique shops. The town's central square, Kacic Square, is a hub of activity, just a short 500 meters from my accommodation. Here, I enjoyed leisurely strolls, soaking in the lively ambiance, and marveled at the historical architecture that surrounds the square, including the beautiful 18th-century Church of St. Mark, commonly known as St. Marc Cathedral.

Nature enthusiasts will find plenty to explore within a close distance from the center of Makarska. The nearby Donja Luka beach, only 500 meters away, offers a perfect spot for sunbathing and swimming in crystal-clear waters, while the lush greenery of Park Suma Osejava, approximately 1 kilometer from the town center, is ideal for leisurely hikes and enjoying panoramic views of the coastline. A visit to the Malacological Museum, also about 1 kilometer away, provided a unique insight into the region's marine life, showcasing an extensive collection of shells and other fascinating sea creatures. The imposing Biokovo Mountain, located just 500 meters from town, invites adventurous travelers to hike its trails, revealing breathtaking vistas and a diverse landscape.

One of the highlights of my trip was exploring the Peninsula of St. Peter, situated about 1 kilometer away from the town center. This picturesque area features serene walking paths surrounded by lush vegetation, offering stunning views across the Adriatic Sea. As I wandered along the peninsula, I couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of the natural landscape that defines Makarska. Each landmark, from the cultural significance of Kacic Square to the breathtaking views atop Biokovo Mountain, invited me to immerse myself in the rich tapestry of history, nature, and local culture that makes this charming coastal town a truly unforgettable destination.
