During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the rich history and vibrant atmosphere of this stunning coastal city. Just a kilometer from where I stayed, I explored the Old Split, renowned for its ancient stone alleyways and the impressive Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that forms the heart of the city. Nearby, the bustling Riva promenade offers a perfect place to savor a coffee while soaking in views of the harbor. As I wandered further, I stumbled upon the Temple of Jupiter, a beautifully preserved Roman temple that now serves as a small museum, and the lively Split Port, where ferries whisk travelers to nearby islands, each with their own charm.
Aside from these iconic landmarks, I made sure to visit the Live Museum Split, where I was entertained by interactive performances that bring the city's history to life. The Archaeological Museum, located slightly further afield, provided deep insights into Croatia's past through its fascinating exhibits. For a refreshing break, I headed to Bacvice Beach, just a short half-kilometer away, where I relaxed in the sun and enjoyed a swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. This blend of culture, history, and natural beauty made my visit to Split truly unforgettable.
