Impressions

During my recent vacation in Split, I was captivated by the rich tapestry of history and culture that envelops the city. Just a kilometer away from my accommodation lay the historic Old Split, a UNESCO World Heritage Site brimming with ancient Roman architecture and vibrant life. Wandering through its narrow streets, I was mesmerized by the iconic Cathedral of Saint Domnius, one of the world's oldest Catholic cathedrals. Nearby, the Temple of Jupiter offered a glimpse into the Roman past, its ruins infested with charming details that tell stories of a bygone era. The Gregory of Nin statue, an imposing figure that stands as a symbol of Croatian culture, was a must-see, and I couldn't resist capturing a photo next to it to commemorate the moment.

Exploring further, I delved into Split's rich artistic and cultural heritage at the Split City Museum and the Ethnographic Museum, both conveniently located within a short walking distance. The Live Museum offered a unique interactive experience, allowing visitors to step back in time and immerse themselves in the city’s history. After soaking in the sights, I strolled down to Split Port, where the glistening Adriatic Sea created a picturesque backdrop for relaxation. Each landmark I visited added another layer to my understanding of Split, making my trip unforgettable and inspiring me to delve deeper into the stories that shaped this vibrant coastal city.
