Apartment Luce Split

During my recent vacation in Split, I had the opportunity to explore a city steeped in history and culture. One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Mestrovic Gallery, located just 2 kilometers from the city center. This remarkable museum showcases the works of the renowned Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović, featuring an impressive collection of his sculptures, paintings, and architectural designs. The gallery is set within a beautiful villa surrounded by lush gardens, providing a serene atmosphere to appreciate the artist's genius. Walking through the halls, I was captivated by the intricate details and emotional depth portrayed in his works, which embody the spirit of Croatian art.

Another prominent landmark that I visited was the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, situated just 1 kilometer from my accommodation. This stunning cathedral, originally built in the 7th century, features a blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture and is one of the best-preserved structures from ancient times. Climbing to the top of the bell tower offered breathtaking views of the city and the Adriatic Sea. After exploring the cathedral, I wandered around the nearby Republic Square, which is a lively gathering spot surrounded by cafes and boutique shops. The square serves as a vibrant hub of local life, perfect for people-watching while sipping on a coffee.

My explorations also took me to the legendary Riva promenade, only a kilometer away, where I enjoyed leisurely strolls along the waterfront, soaking in the sun and the lively atmosphere. Just a short distance from the Riva lies the fascinating Froggyland, a quirky museum showcasing intricately posed taxidermy frogs in whimsical scenarios—a delightful and unexpected find! Further enriching my experience was the stunning Stadion Poljud, home to the local football team, Hajduk Split. With its unique architecture and vibrant fans, it was exhilarating to catch a glimpse of the passion of local sports culture. Finally, I spent some time wandering through the winding streets of Old Split, where I discovered charming cafes and historic sites, creating a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration during my memorable vacation in this enchanting city.
