Impressions

During my recent vacation in Split, I was mesmerized by the city's rich history and stunning architecture. Nestled along the Dalmatian coast, Split is a vibrant blend of ancient landmarks and modern life, making it the perfect destination for a cultural getaway. Just a short stroll from the city center, I visited an array of remarkable sites within a mere 2 kilometers. The iconic Diocletian’s Palace, a sprawling UNESCO World Heritage Site, stood out with its impressive ancient walls and bustling atmosphere, where the remnants of Roman life intermingle with contemporary cafes and shops.

Exploring further, I found the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which rises majestically above the city, and the nearby Temple of Jupiter, both remarkable examples of Split’s architectural heritage. The Old Split area, with its narrow, winding streets, offers a glimpse into the city’s medieval past, while the Split City Museum showcases the evolution of this historic location. For a deeper understanding of the region’s history, I visited the Archaeological Museum of Split, where I marveled at a fascinating collection of artifacts, as well as the Croatian Maritime Museum that celebrates the country's seafaring history.

Just a short walk from my accommodation at the Joker Shopping Centre, I was delighted to find a perfect blend of leisure and history. Stadion Poljud, home to local football matches, exemplified Split's spirited culture and its love for sports. The unique experience of visiting the Live Museum Split added an interactive element to my journey, allowing me to delve into the city’s past through engaging exhibits. After a day filled with exploration, I enjoyed relaxing by the waterfront, savoring local cuisine while taking in the stunning views of the Adriatic Sea, making my time in Split truly unforgettable.
