During my recent vacation in Makarska, I was captivated by the stunning coastal beauty and rich cultural heritage of the region. Just a short stroll from my accommodations, I found myself at the renowned Makarska Beach, where golden sands meet the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, perfect for basking in the sun or enjoying a refreshing swim. A brief walk from the beach took me to Kacic Square, a bustling hub of local life adorned with charming cafes and vibrant markets. Nearby, the impressive St. Mark's Church stands as a historical landmark, its beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere inviting visitors to pause and reflect. I also visited the fascinating Muzej riba i rakova, where I learned about the rich marine biodiversity of the area, adding depth to my understanding of Makarska's natural surroundings.

Exploring a bit further, I ventured into the enchanting Park Suma Osejava, just 1 kilometer from my lodging, where hiking trails wind through pine forests and offer breathtaking views of the coastline. The Observatory, conveniently located only 0.5 kilometers away, provided a unique opportunity to gaze at the stars and learn more about the cosmos. Nature Park Biokovo, which is approximately 1 kilometer away, offered stunning trails and the chance to marvel at Croatia's diverse flora. For a touch of spirituality, I took a trip to Vepric, the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, located 2 kilometers out of the main town—a serene place that offered both reflection and tranquility. Additionally, Mlinice, a beautiful stream that flows through the coastal town, showcased the harmonious blend of nature and architecture, completing my unforgettable experience in Makarska.
