During my recent vacation in Makarska, I was captivated by the charming coastal town nestled along the Adriatic Sea. One of the highlights was a leisurely stroll along the Makarska Harbour, just 0.3 km from my accommodation. This picturesque waterfront area is lined with vibrant cafés and restaurants, where I indulged in local seafood while soaking in the views of sailboats bobbing on the water. The combination of the fresh sea breeze and the stunning backdrop of Biokovo Mountain, towering majestically just a kilometer away, created an idyllic atmosphere that truly encapsulated the essence of this Croatian gem.

Exploring the nearby attractions was a delightful adventure. Just a short walk from the harbour, I visited Kacic Square, a central gathering place adorned with a lively statue and surrounded by charming architecture. The vibrant energy of the square was infectious, providing a perfect setting for people-watching or enjoying a chilled beverage. Another must-see was the Malacological Museum, also a mere 0.3 km away, where I marveled at an impressive collection of shells from around the world, revealing the rich biodiversity of marine life. Not far from there, the St. Marc Cathedral stood out with its stunning façade, and the impressive architecture left a lasting impression on me.

For a more serene experience, I ventured into the oasis of Park Suma Osejava, located just 0.5 km from the town center. This lush forest park offered a peaceful escape with winding paths, scenic viewpoints, and the gentle sound of rustling leaves. I took advantage of the opportunity to hike toward the observatory, also conveniently located within a half-kilometer radius, which promised sweeping views of the coastline and the surrounding landscapes. As my vacation came to an end, I couldn't help but feel that Makarska was not just a destination, but an experience that beautifully blended nature, culture, and leisure.
