During my vacation in Split, I was captivated by the blend of ancient history and vibrant Mediterranean culture that permeates the city. One of the most striking landmarks I visited was the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, located just 0.5 km from my accommodations. This remarkable structure, dating back to the 4th century, is one of the oldest Catholic cathedrals in the world and stands as a testament to Split's rich Roman heritage. The surrounding area, known as Old Split, is a charming maze of narrow alleyways, offering a delightful atmosphere filled with local shops, cafes, and bustling markets. Just a short stroll away, I explored the Live Museum Split, where interactive exhibits and performances brought the city’s history to life, making it an entertaining and educational experience.

In addition to historical sites, Split is also home to several artistic and cultural attractions that enrich its appeal. The renowned Mestrovic Gallery, located about 2 km from the city center, showcases the works of acclaimed Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic and offers beautiful views of the surrounding gardens. Closer to my base, I discovered Froggyland and the Split City Museum, both within a half-kilometer radius, each presenting unique insights into local culture and artistry. The church and monastery of St. Frane, just a short walk away, provided a serene retreat amidst the bustling city life and added to my experience of Split's diverse offerings. Every corner I turned unveiled a new gem, making my stay truly memorable and showcasing the incredible wealth of history and culture in this enchanting Croatian city.
